The last time I looked up the Chicago skyline, Trump Tower had not yet joined Willis Tower and John Hancock Center as one of the tallest structures ever built. Nor every resident and guest examined the warped mirror images on the Cloud Gate. The Windy City continues to be studded with historical and architectural gems.
This summer, Chicago welcomes me once again. I have to stand back for a panoramic view to take in its beauty from Michigan Lake, Millennium and Lincoln Parks, and from a bridge over Chicago River. At the same time, minute details sparkle and catch my attention as I walk around the Loop. An ancient clock on a corner, a Picasso masterpiece at a plaza and even the reflection of a classical building on glass panels of a modern skyscraper are equally magnificent.
