For an early riser like me, dawn is the best time of the day. You wake up after a good night’s rest. You’re up and about by 5am while the rest of the world is still asleep. It’s calm and quiet.
On December 31st, 2009 – the last day of the year, I intentionally got up before sunrise and went walking along the shore in Baler, Aurora, Philippines. It was still dark and cold. I could only hear the waves and feel the breeze. And in minutes daylight broke into the sky as the morning sun burst between heavy clouds and the mountains. Breathtaking! What a way to welcome the day…and the new year!
